Lent is a season of preparation for Easter. During the five Sundays of Lent this year, Orchard will be teaching a series called He Set His Face.

... each week describing how Jesus was intentional as He orchestrated the events of these final days of his earthly life. Beginning with Luke 9:51, “As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set his face for Jerusalem.

JESUS WAS BORN TO DIE...

... and he knew it would happen soon. But make no mistake: Jesus is totally in control of the circumstances surrounding his final days. No one is going to take his life from him. No one can do anything to him unless he allows it. He is still the omnipotent God who could call down legions of angels to defend him if he chose at any point to do so.

Despite the terrible burden that Jesus bore, he could not help but express his love for others along the way.
